Black Watch Premier-Buffalo starts year at College Showcases
Jan 12 2011 - Jim Hesch
Buffalo, NY-Black Watch Premier-Buffalo enters 5th year of programming with a solid Showcase performance. Black Watch Premier-Buffalo Director of Operations Jim Hesch is excited for the 2010/2011 season. "It feels like just the other day that Dave and I were training a group of around 20 players at Rotary Field "stated Hesch. Now the Club has 8 teams, registers 100 plus players (both boys and girls) and has 6 very qualified staff members. This November and December saw the older age groups displaying their talents in front of College Coaches and a variety of different College Showcases. On the boys' side, the BWP u17 Gunners and U18 United played well at the Wallkill College Showcase (Wallkill, NY), MAPS/MSSL College Showcase Ft. (Dix, NJ), and the Winstars Showcase (Ontario, Canada). The girls' u16 Jags and u17 Staggies competed in the Wallkill Showcase (Wallkill, NY) and the NEWSS Showcase (Long Island, NY). Many players have received correspondence from college coaches from their efforts at these showcases. The 2010/2011 Season will see all teams competing in the Thruway League, State Cup and many tournaments throughout the season. Black Watch is also excited to add Academy teams at some of the younger age levels. "I am very excited for the new year. It will present a lot of opportunities for all our players and families," stated Hesch. "I look forward to our great staff continuing their dedication to making each and every player in the club a better player."
Black Watch U9-U10 Academy
Jan 12 2011 - Jim Hesch
The Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Academy Team is for players who have a passion for soccer and wish to learn more about the game and improve their ball skills. Black Watch provides a safe, fun environment for the players to practice, play and develop. The Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Youth Academy Team will focus on developing creative, skillful players who have an enhanced love of the game. The Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Youth Academy focuses on the development of EVERY player, instead of team at these young ages as recommended by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) in their 'Player Development Guidelines'. This focus is also strongly recommended in the coaching license courses run by the USSF and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The main reasoning behind the development of individual players is that in the past there has been so much focus on creating winning teams, that the players' technical skills have never developed enough to be able to carry out the tactics needed to play at the next level. After all, there are NO tactics without technique. It is the individual ball skills, creativity and love of the game that will create exciting soccer players who can play on successful teams and this is why the Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Academy Team works in helping players reach the next level. The Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Youth Academy Team will train once a week starting Sunday February 20, 2011 at 4:30pm at the Epic Center in Williamsville. The Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Youth Academy Team will look to play as a Tournament/Friendly team so not to jeopardize eligibility on BWNYJSL Travel Teams. Each player will receive Nike Training Shirt, Nike Shorts, Nike Socks and Nike Jersey. The Black Watch Premier-Buffalo U9/U10 Youth Academy Team will be coached by Black Watch Premier-Buffalo Director of Operations Jim Hesch. Jim Hesch is the former Canisius College Head Men's Soccer Coach, former Professional Soccer Player, NCAA All-American, and holds a USSF National "A" Coaching License.
